David Teitler moved to Carbondale in 1997 and has practiced acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine in the Roaring Fork Valley ever since.
David’s easy-going, caring nature lends well to his style of practice, allowing him ample time with each patient to fully hear their concerns and desires. His acupuncture treatments and herbal remedies are tailored to the specific needs of each individual.
As a board-certified practitioner, David is well versed in the art of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He successfully treats conditions such as back and knee pain, tendonitis, fatigue, digestive issues, depression, anxiety and women’s health.
Specialist in the Treatment of Respiratory Problems
His specialty is the treatment of respiratory conditions (sinusitis, allergies, cough) and immune system enhancement. He is particularly interested in how the dry Colorado climate affects lung function and he is adept at modifying acupuncture treatments and herbal remedies to take the arid climate into account.
To this end, he is the owner and founder of Dr. Dave’s Herbal Medicine, a small herbal company which specializes in remedies for respiratory conditions. David also teaches classes at acupuncture schools in Colorado and Arizona on the care of sinusitis and allergy conditions.
Acupuncture for Cancer Treatment
David is the lead acupuncturist at the Calaway Young Cancer Center at Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs, where he has treated patients for the last six years. He recently traveled to China and studied with the oncology team at the Yunnan Provincial Hospital in Kunming.
On a Personal Note
When he isn’t busy treating clients, David is most at home with his family and in the outdoors. It makes him particularly happy when these two realms combine. In the winter, he can be found skiing most anywhere, from Spring Gulch to Williams Peak to Aspen Highlands.
In the summertime, he enjoys gardening, hiking and backpacking. And if the late summer climate produces the right mixture of rain and sunshine, he can be found walking the forests in search of a variety of culinary mushrooms and edible delicacies.
